Are Lokai Bracelets the new Alex and Ani?

A personal favourite of mine are the Alex and Ani bracelets made with eco-friendly materials in the hope to care for the planet and well being of animals while also giving back to charity. Each unique bracelet represents something different whether it being as simple as your birthstone to symbolizing healing. As they are both infused with positive energy and affordable along with very fashionable to stack they took the world by storm. However now there is something new!

Although at present I do not own a Lokai Bracelet they fascinate me.

Just like the Alex and Ani bracelet have a simple structure the Lokai bracelets are plain and clean cut too. They are simply a bracelet of beads however enclosed is something special. There is a heartwarming story behind the manufacture of these bracelets. Just like the Alex and Ani bracelets are infused with positive energy the Lokai bracelets have two special beads. In one of the beads holds mud from the dead sea, this represents the lowest point on earth and in life, the other bead holds water from Mount Everest, this represents the highest point on earth and life and the beads in the middles are life's winding pathway in life and are clear because everyone's life is different.

Although Virgos Lounge is by no means a new brand taking us by storm it is definitely a winter favourite of mine. Virgos Lounge's distinctive sparkle and glittery detail can be spotted immediately of one of the many showstopping pieces that are ideal for this Christmas and wintertime in general.

I may be biased (as I wore a Virgos Lounge to one of my Debs, see photo below) but I think all Virgos Lounge dresses offer a unique twist. With the characteristic sparkle comes a new colour or shape of dress, one that is bound to suit all body shapes!

Virgos Lounge are very forgiving for the most part and I would advise getting your size and not going up a size, something I tend to do when investing in order to do alterations myself.

The best advice I could give anyone is to plan in advance, Buying anything last minute gives you no options and trust me, you will not find deals. Putting the Basics to the Test

I know as well as anyone now as a student how difficult it is to show up in a new outfit  every night out. Going out two to three times a week results in pressure to wear a new dress, playsuit or skirt each house party or club you show up to. Although swapping with your roommates is the best alternative other than emptying your bank account you might not have this luxury.

Unless you have unlimited funds us students can't afford a new dress from Topshop or Misguided every week. The simple answer to this unbearable problem is to focus on your basics.

When it comes to the point where you have exhausted your wardrobe your best friend is your basic collection. Stock up on affordable plain dresses, skirts and crop tops which can easily be transferable from night to day and outfit to outfit. 

The beauty of basics is how you can recycle them by continually re-wearing without anyone noticing.

The key to basics is to accessorize.

Black, White, Blue, Pink.. choose your favourite colour depending on the time of year and preference and make it work.It is that easy! 

Once you have your key basic piece have fun adding statement necklaces, kimonos,a pair of killer heels or even a hat. You can re-wear your key piece by adding different accessories. Not only is this bank account friendly, it also makes it easy to decide what to wear.

I was able to get a complete outfit for €22. All from Primark (Penneys). The black off the shoulder basic dress was only €6, the navy fedora was €8 and the statement necklace ( also shown above ) was €8.

Perfect Pastels

As I haven't posted in such a long time I have so much to talk about. My style undoubtedly has changed in the past two months because I started college. Wearing different outfits everyday is a huge difference from relying on a uniform to wear to school. Also as walking is my only method of transport no matter how lazy I am, i have to think about comfy shoes and warm clothes. Anyways, I hope to post a few articles on all the on trend pieces I am interested in and please feel free to comment and share!

Pastels  

Pastels have taken shops by storm this season. Everything is available in pastel, even tartan... who would have thought that would work, but somehow I love it!

Pastels range from baby blues, dusty pinks, lemons to lilacs. They are easily matched to each other. They are the perfect colour pallets for wool skirts, cotton jumpers and laces.

Luckily Penneys have a wide variety of  pastels available.

The last thing any of us wants to hear in August is wool jumpers, duffle coats and boots. However, I am afraid, of last Thursday the 21st all our favourite shops from Topshop, River Island and H&M to Jack Wills have packed away their summer style collections in exchange for some darker, warmer ensembles. 

But no need to fear, new colour pallets are all in fashion such as autumn pastels which are a personal favourite of mine!

What really encouraged me to write this article is my new cardigan I fell in love with this weekend. I found a furry pastel pink cardigan in Penneys (Primark)  for only €15. It is the softest and most cuddly piece of clothing i have ever come across. It is perfect for a cold dreary day you just want to keep warm in, just like the day we had today in Ireland.

Daily fashion fix

Easter Sunday 

With the beautiful weather we got on Easter Sunday this year I got to pull out my maxi dress from the wardrobe and a pair of flip flops!

I got the maxi dress from topshop for only €18 and paired it with a loose denim crop shirt opened. I hitched it up with a brown belt and a pair of river island pink embellished flip flops. As you can see I matched it with my hippy style clutch from penneys that is featured in my last post.
