OOTD

OOTD Special

I decided I would start posting some outfit of the days from now on as most of my creativity goes on pairing outfits together to suit my daily lifestyle.

As fashion changes so does my style. When I started this blog I was really interested anything glitz and dressy mostly opting for blouses and pants with pumps instead of my more common high rise skinny jeans and loafers. Anyways, as a student comfort is my new priority with long walks and cold and rainy days. With college season approaching very quick I have a few ideas for staying cosy and fashionable, and as always, at a good price.

A Shoulder cut out navy stripe top from Penneys. Matched with Jamie jeans from Topshop.
Featuring ; Emerald Cambridge Satchel (Previously blogged about this satchel).

Penneys new pastel scarf. Easily thrown over every outfit. With colours from white, pink, blue or green it matches up with almost anything including grey. Very soft and a great deal for only €9.

Hat and Scarf all from my favourite bargain place - Penneys!
This Grey fedora with a brown detail can funk up any outfit effortlessly.
(Scarf at a steal price of only €6)

Reversible wool scarf is the best ever to pair with anything denim! denim jeans, denim shirts, you name it, This is Vero Moda and was expensive on my standards coming in at €23. It was worth the splurge as it can be worn everyday and is very soft.
Just an example of pairing the grey fedora with just a plain grey long sleeve top.
As always, accessorized with a statement watch :D

More OOTD coming soon along with more on capes, faux fur jackets and a haul.

The Ginger Trio

Hair Appreciation

The majority of my readers probably know me personally and noticed how I like to include myself in a "Ginger Trio" with my two best friends I live with Even though I wasn't blessed with the rare ginger hair genes Aisling and Niamh was.Being from Ireland we stereo-typically possess ginger hair, green eyes and freckles, many freckles. Most will be shocked to know only 2% of the human population have red hair and I think this dying race should be acknowledged.

Although I could go on a rant listing and expanding on the positives of being ginger including looking good pale, being unique and specific colours enhancing your look I want to talk about the new fashion forward trend everyone wants to achieve.

Aisling (Far left)

Aisling.
Matching your giraffes with your hair is great.

Aisling has an unique auburn hair colour making her fashion choices as simple as could be. Turquoise being a personal favourite of mine. Regardless of colour her natural wavy hair is the most envied everywhere she goes.
f
Niamh and I modeling the dogs to our personalities - fiery and basic white girl.

Niamh (Right), (Special Mention: Éabha ).

Niamh is very lucky to have the most distinctive shade of ginger and even more to have natural curls, just to top it all off. With locks across between Nicola Roberts and Emma Stone, Niamh is the most remember-able of us all. Her lethal combination of green eyes and ginger hair makes blues, purples and greens perfect for her.

Lokai Bracelet

Lokai Bracelet

Are Lokai Bracelets the new Alex and Ani?
A personal favourite of mine are the Alex and Ani bracelets made with eco-friendly materials in the hope to care for the planet and well being of animals while also giving back to charity. Each unique bracelet represents something different whether it being as simple as your birthstone to symbolizing healing. As they are both infused with positive energy and affordable along with very fashionable to stack they took the world by storm. However now there is something new!
Alex And Ani Bracelet - Humming Bird
Awakening • Healing • Eternity

Although at present I do not own a Lokai Bracelet they fascinate me.
Just like the Alex and Ani bracelet have a simple structure the Lokai bracelets are plain and clean cut too. They are simply a bracelet of beads however enclosed is something special. There is a heartwarming story behind the manufacture of these bracelets. Just like the Alex and Ani bracelets are infused with positive energy the Lokai bracelets have two special beads. In one of the beads holds mud from the dead sea, this represents the lowest point on earth and in life, the other bead holds water from Mount Everest, this represents the highest point on earth and life and the beads in the middles are life's winding pathway in life and are clear because everyone's life is different.
The Lokai bracelets represent the balance in life between the extremes of high and low.

Lokai bracelets are affordable at about $18 and 10% goes back to charity. Lokai bracelets can be bought online here : http://mylokai.com/

Virgos Lounge

Virgos Lounge

Although Virgos Lounge is by no means a new brand taking us by storm it is definitely a winter favourite of mine. Virgos Lounge's distinctive sparkle and glittery detail can be spotted immediately of one of the many showstopping pieces that are ideal for this Christmas and wintertime in general.

I may be biased (as I wore a Virgos Lounge to one of my Debs, see photo below) but I think all Virgos Lounge dresses offer a unique twist. With the characteristic sparkle comes a new colour or shape of dress, one that is bound to suit all body shapes!

Virgos Lounge are very forgiving for the most part and I would advise getting your size and not going up a size, something I tend to do when investing in order to do alterations myself.

What is probably the deciding factor of many buys is the price and Virgos Lounge will not leaving you counting your penneys.... well too much anyways!
All dresses range from approximately €80 to €160. Now, if you are buying a dress for your Debs, a college ball or perhaps a family wedding where would you find such a distinctive dress for this price?

The best advice I could give anyone is to plan in advance, Buying anything last minute gives you no options and trust me, you will not find deals. If you know you have an occasion coming up search through the online sales regularly. Virgos Lounge are very good for sending emails when they have their latest sales that will save you so much money, One dress I fell in love with was £140 down to £36! Search "The Outlet" while navigating the website to find the latest offers.

The beauty of Virgos Lounge is that you can return any item you are not satisfied with,

You can buy Virgos Lounge online at : https://virgoslounge.com/

Putting the Basics to the Test

I know as well as anyone now as a student how difficult it is to show up in a new outfit  every night out. Going out two to three times a week results in pressure to wear a new dress, playsuit or skirt each house party or club you show up to. Although swapping with your roommates is the best alternative other than emptying your bank account you might not have this luxury.

Unless you have unlimited funds us students can't afford a new dress from Topshop or Misguided every week. The simple answer to this unbearable problem is to focus on your basics.

Basics Basics Basics

When it comes to the point where you have exhausted your wardrobe your best friend is your basic collection. Stock up on affordable plain dresses, skirts and crop tops which can easily be transferable from night to day and outfit to outfit.

The beauty of basics is how you can recycle them by continually re-wearing without anyone noticing.
The key to basics is to accessorize.

Black, White, Blue, Pink.. choose your favourite colour depending on the time of year and preference and make it work.It is that easy!

Once you have your key basic piece have fun adding statement necklaces, kimonos,a pair of killer heels or even a hat. You can re-wear your key piece by adding different accessories. Not only is this bank account friendly, it also makes it easy to decide what to wear.

Primark Statement clutch

Primark Statment necklaces

Primark Fedoras and Bowlers are great for the winter

I was able to get a complete outfit for €22. All from Primark (Penneys). The black off the shoulder basic dress was only €6, the navy fedora was €8 and the statement necklace ( also shown above ) was €8.

Perfect Pastels

As I haven't posted in such a long time I have so much to talk about. My style undoubtedly has changed in the past two months because I started college. Wearing different outfits everyday is a huge difference from relying on a uniform to wear to school. Also as walking is my only method of transport no matter how lazy I am, i have to think about comfy shoes and warm clothes. Anyways, I hope to post a few articles on all the on trend pieces I am interested in and please feel free to comment and share!

Pastels

Pastels have taken shops by storm this season. Everything is available in pastel, even tartan... who would have thought that would work, but somehow I love it!

Pastels range from baby blues, dusty pinks, lemons to lilacs. They are easily matched to each other. They are the perfect colour pallets for wool skirts, cotton jumpers and laces.

Luckily Penneys have a wide variety of  pastels available.

I matched a Penney's pale pink long sleeve top with a criss cross back with a blue tartan skirt from New Look ( €23)

And just in case you think only the highstreet shops are channelling this look here are a few snaps of the amazing Ted Baker pastel handbag range,

Modern Day Cinderella: Comfy Cardi

Modern Day Cinderella: Comfy Cardi: Comfy Wools The last thing any of us wants to hear in August is wool jumpers, duffle coats and boots. However, I am afraid, of last Thu...
