Black and gold palette, hexagons and anything insect are taking over catwalks worldwide!

A variety of designers such as Alexander McQueen, Marios Schwab and Sarah Burton have gone crazy for the bumblebee expressive style for S/S '13. If it isn't bee-keepers veil, bumblebee trapeze dress it's bee accessories! Even Oscar de la Renta had his models in beehive hairstyles.

What most got me interested in this look was the designers inspiration. Bumblebees are extraordinarily intelligent as they impressively organise their hives perfectly and structure it in an impeccable hexagon. My favourite part is the fact it's run by females for the females!

To achieve a more affordable look you can theme black and gold together. A variety of insect style accessories are in every shop these days even Penneys! Yellow is a brilliant statement summer colour you should add to your wardrobe.

Warning: Yellow is a difficult colour to wear, especially with pale Irish skin. Try going for accessories such as a watch, scarf or a trendy satchel!

The Tailored Look

My personal favourite look is the menswear tailored look for woman. Buttoned up shirts and blouses can be worn any time of year from winter to summer. They can be dressed up or down, they are even comfortable to wear. You can capture and style you like from a dolly princess look with chiffon material and bows to a smart sophisticated look with buttons and breast pockets!

Victorian Vogue

Is 19th century fashion taking a comeback? 

If you have been keeping an eye on the catwalk this S/S '13 you would have noticed the decorative jewels, petticoats and high collars creeping back into the fashion frenzy of today.

 Alexander McQueen produced a show stopping lemon tea time like dress on the catwalk this season along with Meadham Kirchhoff who has established the normal denim jacket but added great puffed sleeves, frills and bows! I can't help but think of Mary Poppins or Alice in Wonderland!

A little sparkle goes a long way!

Wondering how to add to your typical Saturday night outfit? Just add the perfect heels!

Personally, I think shoes are the most important factor to consider when putting together any outfit, to be dramatic about it - it can make or break your outfit! 

You can never go wrong with a pair of stiletto heels with your disco pants and top but to really set it off just add some sparkle!

All the celebrities are doing it...

When you decide to add glitter to your outfit caution must always be taken.. you don't want to end up looking tacky! Be sure that the glitter you choose isn't cheap looking but try strive for a rich look!

The Pinafore Playsuit

As soon as you hear "pinafore" you probably cringe and think of your primary school uniform however pinafore playsuits are out now and are really cute!

The playsuit pinafore can be themed with a buttoned up blouse inside the playsuit with some wedges or heels for a night look and can also be easily dressed down with a plain top and some pumps!

Recently, I spent two days shopping in Dublin and I saw a girl wearing a green pinafore playsuit with a plain top inside it with pumps and a bowler hat, I thought she looked fabulous and inspired me to write this piece.

Millie Mackintosh,Made in Chelsea star, newly engaged to Professor Green, was spotted showing off her engagement ring wearing a black pinafore with a lace blouse inside it with white sandals.
