Black and gold palette, hexagons and anything insect are taking over catwalks worldwide!

A variety of designers such as Alexander McQueen, Marios Schwab and Sarah Burton have gone crazy for the bumblebee expressive style for S/S '13. If it isn't bee-keepers veil, bumblebee trapeze dress it's bee accessories! Even Oscar de la Renta had his models in beehive hairstyles.

What most got me interested in this look was the designers inspiration. Bumblebees are extraordinarily intelligent as they impressively organise their hives perfectly and structure it in an impeccable hexagon. My favourite part is the fact it's run by females for the females!

To achieve a more affordable look you can theme black and gold together. A variety of insect style accessories are in every shop these days even Penneys! Yellow is a brilliant statement summer colour you should add to your wardrobe.

Warning: Yellow is a difficult colour to wear, especially with pale Irish skin. Try going for accessories such as a watch, scarf or a trendy satchel!

The Tailored Look

Shirts, blazers and fitted pants!

My personal favourite look is the menswear tailored look for woman. Buttoned up shirts and blouses can be worn any time of year from winter to summer. They can be dressed up or down, they are even comfortable to wear. You can capture and style you like from a dolly princess look with chiffon material and bows to a smart sophisticated look with buttons and breast pockets!

Victorian Vogue

Is 19th century fashion taking a comeback? 

If you have been keeping an eye on the catwalk this S/S '13 you would have noticed the decorative jewels, petticoats and high collars creeping back into the fashion frenzy of today.

 Alexander McQueen produced a show stopping lemon tea time like dress on the catwalk this season along with Meadham Kirchhoff who has established the normal denim jacket but added great puffed sleeves, frills and bows! I can't help but think of Mary Poppins or Alice in Wonderland!

A little sparkle goes a long way!

Wondering how to add to your typical Saturday night outfit? Just add the perfect heels!

Personally, I think shoes are the most important factor to consider when putting together any outfit, to be dramatic about it - it can make or break your outfit! 

You can never go wrong with a pair of stiletto heels with your disco pants and top but to really set it off just add some sparkle!

All the celebrities are doing it...

When you decide to add glitter to your outfit caution must always be taken.. you don't want to end up looking tacky! Be sure that the glitter you choose isn't cheap looking but try strive for a rich look!

The Pinafore Playsuit

As soon as you hear "pinafore" you probably cringe and think of your primary school uniform however pinafore playsuits are out now and are really cute!

The playsuit pinafore can be themed with a buttoned up blouse inside the playsuit with some wedges or heels for a night look and can also be easily dressed down with a plain top and some pumps!

Recently, I spent two days shopping in Dublin and I saw a girl wearing a green pinafore playsuit with a plain top inside it with pumps and a bowler hat, I thought she looked fabulous and inspired me to write this piece.

Millie Mackintosh,Made in Chelsea star, newly engaged to Professor Green, was spotted showing off her engagement ring wearing a black pinafore with a lace blouse inside it with white sandals.

Vintage Bikinis

They say history repeats itself!

The Vintage Retro bikinis are back in style! This 1950's style was created so that all women, whatever shape or size could look beautiful in the sun. Every woman's body was embraced in the 1950's- why not now? 

The likes of Marilyn Monroe rocked the vintage bikini. This bikini is designed perfectly to hide the dreaded spare tyre, support the bust while drawing attention to our tiny waists! It hugs our figures in all the right places.

Celebrities are still wearing the vintage bikini to this day. Recently Taylor Swift had been spotted with now ex-boyfriend, Conor Kennedy, in a red polka dot vintage bikini.

Want to steal Taylor's style? I found a website online called "Unique Vintage", where you can buy this bikini for $75. Personally, I think this is very expensive even though it is very flattering and very cute!

Unless you are filthy rich, these days we must be careful with our money. This sometimes means buying one expensive swimwear piece to last a few years or, you could be more like me, the more cheap pieces the better to mix n' match.

My own 1950's bikini which i purchased in Penneys about 2 years ago. I have the matching vintage bottoms. Going by Penneys prices I paid about €9 for this.

TOMS

Comfy, Stylish and supports a worthwhile cause - what's not to love?

I always loved TOMS and yesterday I bought my first pair, all I have to say is - I love them! As I have a small foot and find it hard to get a pair of flats that are not converse to fit, these are ideal because I was able to buy them in the "Kids" section which supply identical ones only in smaller sizes. 

I wore them all day in Dublin yesterday and still today and they are pure comfort- coming for me, whose feet always are cut, grazed and sore from wearing shoes the first time, this was brilliant. 

Warning: Don't wear socks with them.. that is just wrong. 

TOMS are really cute for casual wear. They are completely versatile and you can wear them with shorts, jeans, chinos a casual day dress and even look cute with tights! They are perfect for spring/summer wear!

Not only do they look good but I found out they support third world countries and with every pair you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. You are really hitting two birds with one stone here!

They also come with a little bag to keep them clean. There are various of styles and colours TOMS come in.
